Word of the Week

This weeks Word of the Week is....

Gorge. 
This is not a miss spelling of the word that refers to a valley or canyon. No, this word refers to something that is wonderful, beautiful or positively happy making.


This word is a common abbreviation of the well-known word Gorgeous. But the hipster youths of today (otherwise known of as our awesome girl gang who spends their time eating chocolate chip cookies and watching eighties movies wearing double denim) now refer to the word as Gorge.


An example of this is when someone tells you that they are taking you on holiday to Bali, and you will be smuggled onto the plane in a carry-on bag and your response is,
 "double cool with nobs on! Sounds Gorge!!"

Another could be when you see a lanky lad walking down the street in the afternoon sunshine, and an appropriate exclamation to this wondrous sight would be,
 "Gee whizz!! He's gorge!!!"














I hope this has enlightened you on the language of today's youth. Try using it in conversation, it works a treat.

This week's word of the is 
Groov.
What is good about groov? Getting in the groov is really quite groov. It is an abbreviation of the word groovy, but for those of us that are too laid-back to say the whole word and would rather be in a cult somewhere, we just say groov. 

 

this is the Source Family, aren't they beautiful.

One pronounces it as one would "Smooth."


An example of this is..


When you think something is very trippy and lovely you might say; in an off-hand chilled way;
"These are really Groov... I really like these macramé pot plant holders..." 


(Note the hippy punctuation, always leading onto something new...)
